The Bible & Politics is a LIVE ONLINE or WATCH LATER Term 1, 2024 TWO-WEEK Course held virtually on Zoom on Two Wednesdays: Sep 18 & 29 from 7:00–9:30pm EST. Once you register for this course, log into your MSI account, choose this course in 'My Courses', and you will find the Zoom link in the Course Contents along with all the course materials as they are shared.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Just in time for the coming U.S. election! A deep dive into the Biblical perspectives on politics, citizenship, civic virtues and values, patriotism, nationalism, propaganda, and how to live faithfully to God in Messiah while being a responsible citizen in one’s own nation.

MSI LIVE ONLINE courses meet LIVE via Zoom and are recorded for review later. All material from each session of these courses will be available online shortly after each live session. Please make every effort to be present for the LIVE ONLINE sessions. However, while not ideal, you may also register for courses if you cannot attend the live sessions to WATCH LATER at your own pace. We encourage you to follow the schedule closely and plan ahead to be with us for these LIVE ONLINE courses so that you may get the most out of lifelong learning at MSI. Your Instructor
Henri Louis Goulet
Henri’s primary interests include the Biblical languages (specializing in Biblical Greek); the reciprocal relationship between the Tanakh and the New Covenant Scriptures; the study of the New Covenant Scriptures from the 'Within Judaism Perspective'; the Way of the LORD as a Biblical worldview and way of life; the origin, meaning, and instantiation of ekklēsia; the Jewish-Graeco-Roman milieu of the New Covenant Scriptures; 2nd Temple Jewish Literature, especially the 'Pseudepigrapha'; the full Good News; the kingship/kingdom of God; the letters of Paul; ancient rhetoric; hermeneutics; paradigms; and conceptual metaphor. He is a member of the SBL and the SPOSTST, and has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Biblical Greek and/or NT at the seminaries of Ashland and Capital University. Henri currently serves as the Academic Dean and Executive Director of MSI, as well as the Education Coordinator of Beth Messiah Congregation.
