Hebrew 1 is a LIVE ONLINE Term 2 course on THURSDAYS from 7:00–9:00pm EST held virtually on Zoom starting on 12/09/2021. Once you register for this course, log into your MSI account, choose this course in 'My Courses', and you will find the Zoom link in the Course Contents along with all the course materials as they are shared.

Course Description:

In this course, students will begin to learn the mechanics of beginning Biblical Hebrew, including basic verb analysis, an introduction to three of the five verb Forms (Affix, Prefix and Participle), focusing on the Qal and Pi’el verb stems, and the acquisition of frequently used Hebrew vocabulary. This course will cover Lessons 1–10 in our textbook, as well as Hebrew subject pronouns and the basic structure of nouns.

MSI LIVE ONLINE
This MSI LIVE ONLINE course meets LIVE via Zoom on six Thursdays 12/09, 12/16, 12/23, 01/13, 01/20, 01/27, but the LIVE ONLINE sessions for this course will be recorded and available to revisit whenever you desire. The videos will be uploaded as soon as possible after the LIVE ONLINE sessions in the Course Contents. We encourage you to follow the schedule closely and plan ahead to be with us for these LIVE courses so you can get the most out of lifelong learning with MSI. While not ideal, you may also register for this course if you cannot attend the live sessions and engage the videos at your own pace.

Marcy Kotting

Marcy has had a lifelong passion for Jewish worship and liturgy, and the Hebrew language that supports them, having been raised in Judaism. She has taught Hebrew for MSI since its inception, and has previously taught Hebrew for MJTI. She is also MSI's main instructor on the Jewish Holidays. Marcy has played an active role in several Messianic Jewish ministries including the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, the Association of Messianic Believers, and Chevra USA. Moreover, she is a longterm member of the MSI Board. Marcy is the Liturgist for Beth Messiah Congregation, where she also trains Bar and Bat Mitzvah students. She is currently a graduate student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary studying for an MA in Biblical Languages.
