INSTRUCTOR:
Chris Kotting
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Increasingly, our public interactions in many areas (politics, society, and religion among them) are dominated by sound bites, memes, and software-driven media, designed to maximize emotional engagement and minimize analytical thought. In this course we will look at the problems modern media creates for followers of Jesus, discuss the modern challenges to thinking deeply, and explore tools for thinking and understanding to overcome those challenges so that we can argue rationally and compellingly for the Biblical faith, truly understand who our ‘neighbor’ is, and know how to love them despite (or maybe even because of) our differences.
