Chapter 16 introduces the remaining two forms, the Qal Participle and the two Infinitives, and explains how they function as verbal adjectives or substantives (nouns). Chapter 17 expands on the introduction to the Qal Vav Consecutive we studied in Chapter 4 of Biblical Hebrew 1, and demonstrates how to recognize and understand Vav Consecutive Perfect and Imperfect verbs, including the Vav Consecutive forms of the verb היה (to be).
