INSTRUCTOR:
Marcy Kotting

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In Biblical Hebrew 2 we will add to our understanding of basic grammar, covering important concepts, such as construct nouns, directional endings, prepositions, interrogatives, pronominal suffixes, common patterns in Hebrew nouns, and the form and syntax of numbers in the Tanakh. We will continue to focus on learning overall patterns that will help us to predict usage and meaning intuitively, rather than memorizing a series of facts. The workbook exercises for chapters 7-10 will provide important opportunities to practice new concepts as well as continued engagement with the Joseph narrative in Genesis. We will continue to master targeted vocabulary to enable learners to directly engage Biblical texts. As a result, we will not only be learning abstract paradigms but will put what we have learned into practice as we read adapted versions of the Biblical texts.
